No matter how good you are, there will be people who think you are bad.
You can try to be nice always and a good friend to everyone, but you will surely have enemies or people who dont like you.
You can always search for happiness, yet remain sad always.
You can have everything in life, yet feel like you dont belong anywhere.
You can always try to please others, thinking that it will make us also happy. It will, but not always.
You can try your best, but still experience failure.
You can look for God in the sky, in the sea, all over the earth; but still not see, hear or feel Him.
Ultimately you will realize that truth exists only within yourself. Your soul is the entire truth.
We can move away from our soul in our daily quest called life. But ultimately for the beauty, purity and peace, you have to look towards your inner self.
I suppose this is the essence of meditation. The energy that you call God, or someone else calls by another name, or the atheist calls luck; all lies within us. If we can look within ourselves each day, talk to our soul and stay connected, then life becomes a lot more peaceful and beautiful. Then you get a lot of energy, positive energy, to do a lot more in life..a lot more good.
This does not mean you need to be selfish and self-centered. Or like some philosophers and preachers say "relinquish all material things", "disconnect from the world", "leave all this reality in this world", "have no emotional attachments". Thats all rubbish. Thats escapism.
Your soul and inner self needs to be in harmony with the reality and with the present. Only then you will experience the truth.
These thoughts are borne out of a lot of interaction with supposedly wise people, who are in the quest of eternal truth. These thoughts also stem from my own conviction since a long time ago that in life, ultimately its only you that you will have. Or to put it differently, no matter who you have in life, there will be plenty of moments when there will not be anyone else for you, but just yourself. Its not because nobody else loves you or wants to help you, but thats the way life is meant to be.
So stay in touch with yourself. You are all you've got!
Ok!! Enough nonsense for a Sunday! ;)
Good night!

Amen to that :)))
i like it!
and i need to add more as it really touches a lot of chords in my soul.....but what more can I say when I feel extremely speechless! beautiful!?!
'So stay in touch with yourself. You are all you've got!'
excellent line..
and what you have written aint any nonsense..Each line made me think..
I think we cant presume the world to be good to you but you can sure retain your goodness by doing good to others...
MC,
'Ultimately you will realize that truth exists only within yourself. Your soul is the entire truth.'
Exactly.
"We live together, we act on, and react to, one another; but always and in all circumstances we are by ourselves. The martyrs go hand in hand into the arena; they are crucified alone. Embraced, the lovers desperately try to fuse their insulated ecstasies into a single self-transcendence; in vain. By its very nature every embodied spirit is doomed to suffer and enjoy in solitude. Sensations, feelings, insights, fancies—all these are private and, except through symbols and at second hand, incommunicable. We can pool information about experiences, but never the experiences themselves. From family to nation, every human group is a society of island universes." -ALDOUS HUXLEY in 'The Doors of Perception'
Amen :)
wow...how i wish i could express some of these thoughts myself in words...but i fail. will keep reading this post again and again.
You have such a lovely way of exposing the little truths in life. Words take on a whole another deeper meaning and beauty when you use them. Beautiful!
no matter who you have in life, there will be plenty of moments when there will not be anyone else for you, but just yourself. Very true. Nice post bro. Very well written.
I think there's a line in Gita whose essence is, The soul is born from the ultimate soul of God, and in the end is merged into it. This is ably supported by the EPR paradox in quantum physics.
Which is why I think, when you take care of yourself, which is easy compared to doing good to others, you end up taking care of others. Problem solved... :)
'Searching for happiness'
its so difficult to understand the phrase..happiness comes from within oneself and still one has to search for it !!!
i believe every person knows his source of happiness..still people choose to remain sad..why?
being left alone scares me..i always prefer to remain amongst my family, friends or even strangers..but yes it is true that there have been moments when one needs only oneself and only the 'self' is the world
Beautiful post and very true. “Ultimately its only you that you will have.”Very true again . I have believed in this for some time now and chosen a path that has given me a lot of food for thought based on this conviction .
We were born alone and are alone at the end of the day . Our parents are close to us because we have stayed with them , lived and grown under their care and guidance most of our lives , we share a companionship , they enjoy our company and we revel in theirs hence an interdependence . So is it with close friends , lovers , and other relationships . It is this dependence that makes us want the company more but none of them can be with us all the time even in the present day leave alone forever .. nothing is permanent and the only thing we have is truly ourselves – that too our souls because everything else our body and mind are destructible and can leave us . It is for us to understand this essence of life and turn inwards . Turning inwards gives us huge strength . Strength that a line from Gita, which has influenced me talks about – the ability to be neither affected by happiness nor affected by sadness- to remain calm and accept both, will equal ease – a state referred to as being “Sthithpragya”.
Meditation certainly is one of the paths to approaching the inner self and Vipassana is supposed to be a learning ground.
"no matter who you have in life, there will be plenty of moments when there will not be anyone else for you, but just yourself. Its not because nobody else loves you or wants to help you, but thats the way life is meant to be."
You bet. Super Post :)
True but scary.
