The long winding roads through the Canadian Rockies. Winter was beginning to set in. I particularly love this shot as it gives a mixed feeling of infinite beauty and endless journey.
Here is another tag. Quite a personal one, and one of the things I hate doing is to talk about myself. But since the tagger was a sweet, dear, friend, I simply could not refuse.
Some supposedly (and hopefuly!!) unknown facts about myself :)
My Accent: Neutral, but sometimes, if you listen carefuly, you might catch a Swahili tone. Very rare during a regular conversation though, unless I am singing, ofcourse.
Booze: Very rarely. I simply need to have company I am really comfortable and enjoy with, and usually saved for occasions of great impact to life which includes events like my close friends birthdays, extreme happiness striking between 7pm and 8pm on a friday or saturday, chill-out music that instantly gets you into the mood.. Prefer white wine or beer. Dont like hard-liquor given a choice. Nothing like sipping on some chardonnay, with the shrimp platter to go along, at the Library Bar with your best friends.
Chore I Hate: Dusting, am allergic to dust among 27 other things. And 192 people :)
Dog or Cat: Dog. Only. I hate cats, unless its from the human species.
Essential Electronics: I belong to an order that believes all electronics are essential :) Kidding..mmm..My PDA phone and Laptop primarily.
Perfume: Issey.. I simply love Issey.. I have fallen in love with women, simply because they wore Issey..Ok..Kidding again..you get the drift though.
Gold or Silver: Neither. But if you have to know, Silver should do. Its got nothing to do with Silverine :)
Home: I consider two cities in India as home, and live my life between those two places. Due to security reasons, I am refrained from disclosing the locations. Anyway, I live alone at one place, while at the other I live with my parents. Call it positive influence, my mother now is a die-hard F1 fan, hums "hips don't lie" music though she likes rap too and she even wanted to watch Rang De Basanti twice.
Insomnia: I used to be such a sleep-a-holic. Then one night I had a dream with an angel playing a familiar tune that I dont remember now. But the lyrics went "you will have time enough to sleep, when you are six feet down-under". Since then I have been a nocturnal.
Job Title: There are many in fact: Surgeon, Pain, Joker, CEO, Doctor..come to think of it, they are all the same.
Living Arrangements: hmm..interesting question..I manage with the arrangements God has made..oxygen, water, Pizza, sunlight, chocolate, burger, cheese, coke etc.. And I occupy very little space. One corner of the bed is all I need. The rest is occupied by my books, laptop, CDs etc. I believe in equality.
Most Admirable Traits: sighh... I told you this was a difficult tag.. well, I am quite accommodative and flexible :)
Number of Sexual Partners: I was advised to "try" Nada and Null by the person who tagged me. Anyway, thankfully I still remember the numbers though I forget their names: 92921110291 and 92920112020 :) Oh..you might want to add the country code if you are dialling outside India.
Number of times in hospital: Almost every day of my life for the last 11 years. As a patient, about 3 times.
Phobias: plenty..Amychophobia- Fear of scratches or being scratched, Bolshephobia- Fear of Bolsheviks, Nosocomephobia- Fear of hospitals (overcome this almost), Odontophobia- Fear of dental surgery, Onomatophobia- Fear of hearing certain names (my own the most!), Gamophobia- Fear of marriage and Fear of the Dark..oops..thats a song..
Quote: "I always wanted to be somebody.I see now that I should have been more specific.."
Religion: Christian
Siblings: One
Time I Wake Up: Ok, lets rephrase this a bit.. By the time I wake up, most people are at their work places.
Unusual Talent or Skill: I eat my pills throwing it in the air and catching it in my mouth. I consider this as a skill, but most people disagree..
Vegetable I Love: I discovered only a few years ago that I am not allergic to veggies.
Worst Habit: I withdraw from what I do not like. I can wall-off myself.
X-Rays: Couple of dental ones, when I broke my toe, when I got stabbed by a certain Miss.Scissors.
Yummy Food I Make: Why isnt the question "yummy food I dont make"! Mmm..I baked a chocolate cake once and people who ate it said "yummyyyyy!". They also said that next time I should take more care about the shape.
Zodiac Sign: Aquarius
People tagged to do it : You know, I thoroughly enjoyed doing this one :) But now am a bit worried about how much more people know about me..especially my worst fears..ouch! I welcome and request all those who comment here to do the same tag. tsk tsk..smart huh..
37 comments:
Not so smart :) I have already done the tag :P
I am also allergic to dust, but the satisfaction of sleeping in a spic and span room on a sunday afternoon with a good book and music is too good. So every sunday from Kusum the BA(business analyst) I turn to Kusum the BAI and do all the dusting :)
Odontophobia- Fear of dental surgery hhmm i think i will be suggering from this very soon :(
Wow!!!!
Me wanted to be first :(
But second is fine if by the time I comment someone has not commented already :)
Swahili..? Exotic!! People ask me if I was Italian when I talk to my foreign counterparts in the US :)
Booze: "extreme happiness striking between 7pm and 8pm on a friday or saturday LOL. Well put. Happens to me every weekend :)) And Chardonnay is my prefered poison too!
You are allergic to 27 things and 192 people? What did you do? Piss off 27 women? Embezzle a company or run away with the princess of a small country????
Dog or cat: Miaowww er..I mean good :p
Elec: "I belong to an order that believes all electronics are essential" I believe in this philosophy too :)
Perfume:*gurls pliz to note this point* (one more thing to do at Forum as someone thinks I live there :p)
Home: If my brother reads this, you may be taken at gun point and made to do some positive influencing on his mom too :|
Insomnia: "you will have time enough to sleep, when you are six feet down-under" And if you don't sleep enough then the six feet under will happen sooner than you think :)
Job Title: Joker..I like this the best followed by the Doctor :)
Living arrangements: Pliz delete this, you will scare away potential Mrs Mind Curries :|
Traits: I can see that you are flexible he he by that flexible description lol
No of partners: *gasp* Only two????
tsk tsk Liar!!!!!!!
:)
Hospital: 3 times? These fashion shows ought to be banned!!!!! :))
Phobias: You fear scratches and like human cats??? :|

Talents: And what pills would that be? :p
Veggis: "I discovered only a few years ago that I am not allergic to veggies" LOL Good one doc :))
Worst trait: This is something I never do, I am capable of telling people on the face if I don't like them and so please leave me alone till you are six feet under? Thanks !!
Xray: Attagirl Miss Scissors!! err... I mean so sad :(
Yummy foods: Why isnt the question "yummy food I dont make"! lol another good one. This is turning out to be a treasure house of a tag, lots of gems of one-liners sprinkled in between :p
You get a A+ for making the chocolate cake yummmy, it's not easy :)
Thank you doc for taking up this tag. And thanks for calling me a friend :)

@ kusum bai - :) yeah nothing like a sunday afternoon with a good book and music. so i choose one of the bookstores with coffee bars. and welcome to the Odontophobia club..you are our 1000th member.
@ silverine - you know the greatest delight in blogging is the comments..and you top that list!
and i also have to tell you, there are people who blog, or keep blogging, only because of you..i am sure google will be happy about brand silverine too :)
But second is fine if by the time I comment someone has not commented already

You are no.2 at Indian bloggers after this tag ;) Lots of curiosity about you doc..:p

"you know, i really am thinking of having a fashion show sponsored at the hospital"
Please remove all sharp implements from the hospital before you do that, or it will be a massacre :|
p.s. 'brand silverine' hmmm never understood that!!
p.p.s Anand has tagged you too and his tag is hilarious :))
Thanks for dropping by my blog.
River Suvarna..is it the river which can be seen from 'end point'??
There is a river which flows down there and everyone calls it 'the boating river'. I'm wondering if it's the same one you're talking about.:)
Cheers!!
Joy
Spent your childhood in Africa? Let me guess—parents were working there…
Very well refined taste in the case of Booze. Nothing like sipping on some chardonnay, with the shrimp platter to go along, at the Library Bar with your best friends. Reads like a line from a novel.
Another person allergic to dust. I used to buy a box of the disposable masks, the ones you use in the operation theatre, and used to wear them while dusting. Had no problems. If I didn't have a mask, then I used to wear my full-face helmet :-)
All electronics are essential--A very interesting view point.
You have a decent list of phobias. The last two were the best.
Nice list. But many of your answers are quite vague. You are very elusive character, guarding your private world very closely :-)
Zis was a nice tag. Got this one from Jiby. And reading your blog I realised that I missed the Religion question. Darn...
Hmmmmmm, you forget the names but remember the numbers? Fishy....very fishy. I strongly suspect it's your local "chat" line? Like the one featured in "Tu Tu hain wahin" remix video? Bad baaaad Doc! :P
Oh well, secks parters can also include phone secks partner, eh? ;)
I remember a certain gang in aamchi school who reportedly dialled up such a number in the US from our poor Principal's ISD line. I wonder what the powers-that-pay-the-bills thought when they saw the monthly phone statement!
Swahili ?????
I hate cats too ... except prob in Forwards
and, u a doc ???
tc
P.S : liked this blog better than the Kerala blog .... mayb , i'm slinking away from facing a few realities
@ silverine - lol..you are always number 1 :) lots of fans and admirers, not to mention curiosity..remember that pic? "is this silverine?" :))
Please remove all sharp implements from the hospital before you do that, or it will be a massacre :|
hilaariousss!!!
@ joylita - lol..yes...the boating river is the same. hope you know lawrence then.
@ alexis - lol..i was wondering what the connection between me and Africa was..apart from my look and behaviour that connects me to the jungle ofcourse..anyway..swahili was just a joke :)
You are very elusive character, guarding your private world very closely

Thts the best way to enjoy booze ! other than dancing all night ofcourse - but thts the other end of the spectrum ..
MAn Am I allergic .. I think I am allergic to everything under the SUn .. tht would beat ur record.. even the slightest impurity in jewels gives me a rash .. its has to eb the pure stuff..( poor whoever who is goin to gift me those !! )
Silver - love silver ..especially silver rings ..and chucky silver earings ..
hmmm ..sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind doc...
Pizza is the best thing God made !!!
Being able to withdraw is to an extend a good thing .. not to retaliate or to stoop to someone else's level but to silently w ithdraw ..somehow I do tht also..but i feel it has a dignity but maynot be always right ..
Really nice goin thru the post .. donno when I'll be able to update mine..
* Bitting lower lip and looking at the floor* I er, tagged you. Hope you wont't mind doing it.
Lovely photo there :) And very amusing tag ... er... thing, too. God made pizzas, eh. Well, of course. Human beings as His tools and all that, and we are, undoubtedly, all tools :P
@ der bergwind - i'd like to read what you wrote on small things.
even i don like dentists much but hope the enamel stayz intact!!

@ aizwaikcha - thank you so much. good to see you after so long!
@ shruti - ahh..there you are :) thank you so much shruts.
oh, boy..so you suffer allergies too..try flixonase..very effective.
you are right about "withdrawing" to some extent..but yes, it has its downside..sometimes its very frustrating for the other person, especially when they are the expressive types..anyway, its all about balance.
@ kusum - biting your lower lip...ultimate! laughed so much imagining you..
@ megha - welcome here :) yeah, the person who makes a good pizza is God :) tools we are surely.
er...doc, I think you are in big trouble...I saw Miss Scissors fuming at Alexis' blog just now...
Job Title: There are many in fact: Surgeon, Pain, Joker, CEO, Doctor..come to think of it, they are all the same.
Hmm.. I recently became a baby sitter for my Prof's grandson.
By the way silverine suggested your blog to me.

One corner of the bed is all I need. The rest is occupied by my books, laptop, CDs etc. I believe in equality.

God knows I am a patient girl,no really I am, but but but where is the tag
*Joins silverine in the queue*
*hmph*
hey i'm not doin' your tag, but now that i know you spend everyday at the hospital i am wondering something about india... you see nowadays i am staying with near the hospital (directly oposite) and people told me everytime i see a death procession i am supposed to get some sort of good karma... which, means everyday i should be having good karma because well, living near the hospital means everyday someone is dying and whatever.... so, are indians believing this too... and if so, do tell, don't ya think it is weird that someone else's death is giving you good karma?!
Long time no post!!!
Hey MC! :) Heard your cover got blown...where are you now? Pls Post yaar!:) We are not really that scary, but once in a while however we like to admire smart talent on blogosphere.
